The sloping back yard on the North side of the house
blends into the Marsh. The natural "borders" of the
yard are native grape bushes, in front of the native
marsh vegetation that progresses into the wetland
itself and the stream of water at the property's edge,
between 200-300 feet away from the edge of the house,
depending on the tide.
The area adjacent to the house has a mixture of wild-
grasses and native groundcover requiring minimal care,
at most a trimming 3-4 times a year.
The area just in front of the lower deck has a small rock
garden with several evergreens and some bushes.
The grape bushes require once a year trimming and if
the grapes are harvested just in time, according to local
recipes they make an excellent jam or jelly.

The back yard provides a popular area for all kinds of
birds and small wildlife. Using 1birdfeeder, they consume
about 10 lbs. of birdseed each week, year around. As a
result you may get to enjoy a constant parade of birds,
primarily Cardinals, Red-Winged Blackbirds, Bluejays and
a number of other smaller birds.
You will frequently see Seagulls, occasionally White
Swans and as seen in the pictures also a Red-Tailed
Hawk shows up from time-to-time to hunt. Several times
a Great Blue Heron comes to fish on the Marsh. Squirrels
are constantly around and Rabbits also show up once in
a while.
