The Main Deck is located off the kitchen and the office, each one of which has a door opening to the spacious deck. From the Main Deck there is a small staircase leading to the back yard, near the entrance to the shed. The Main Deck also has the landing of the staircase leading to the Upper Deck. This staircase also serves as a secondary fire-escape from the second story of the house, as an extra safety measure.
The deck itself is shaded by a large tree protecting most of its area from the morning sun. The afternoon sun is shielded by the house itself, only exposing the deck to full sunshine during midday during the spring and summers. The deck has railings on 2 sides, built to support planters. The other 2 sides of the deck are framed by the house itself.
The deck offers a tranquil setting to simply sit and enjoy the views and sounds of the Marsh, or enjoy a meal easily brought out from the adjacent kitchen.

The Upper Deck is the ultimate in privacy.
It offers sweeping vistas of the Marsh, as well as the tip of Sesuit Harbor.
The nearest house is over 800 ft across the Marsh offering complete privacy while sunbathing or relaxing.
There are no other neighbors visible and this privacy will be forever protected by the conservation nature of the marsh.

Side Deck |

The Side Deck off the living room is simply a place for some planters and a small landing to place a decorative tree just outside the sliding glass door, in full view from the living room, allowing full enjoyment of the tree, while minimizing the mess and fire hazard of a tree inside the house.
The deck is facing West, allowing a full view of the setting sun with frequent "Technicolor" sunset shows.
The railings have built-in brackets for holding planters.
