Roof - the house received a brand new, architectural
quality, 25 year guaranteed roof in 2002.
Siding - the house also received the highest quality
vinyl siding available (Certain-Teed brand, Cedar
Impression type) with its lifetime guarantee. The siding
was reviewed and fully approved by the Dennis Historic
Commission overseeing all exterior changes to residen-
ces along the Historic District, which this house is part of.
Gutters and donwspouts - the house received new,
seamless aluminum gutters and downspouts in 2002.
The gutters all have gutter - guards to keep leaves and
debris from accumulating, eliminating the need to ever
climb and have to clean the gutters. The gutters on the
front of the house empty into a French-drain running
along the front and out to the side of the house to drain
water away from the foundation. All downspouts on the
sides and the back of the house empty into 3 foot-deep
French-drains to eliminate puddles around the foundation
after rainstorms.
Lightning Arrestor System - the house also received new,
UL Spec. lightning arrestor system, using 1 spike on each
chimney plus 1 spike on each roof-corner, connected to 2
separate ground-rods, one at the East and another at
the West side of the house.
As a result the exterior of the house is practically maint-
enance free for life. The only maintenance needed is a
periodic power-washing of the exterior to remove any
dirt and accumulated environmental deposits.
